Frisco Centennial has its fourth consecutive Class 5A team tennis state championship, and this final left a little more breathing room than the semifinal.
The Titans beat Abilene Wylie 10-4 on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, at Annemarie Tennis Center in San Antonio, according to the University Interscholastic League. A day earlier, Centennial had edged Corpus Christi Flour Bluff 10-9 to reach the title match.
Thursday brought a reversal of the teams’ regular-season meeting, which Wylie won 12-7. Centennial finishes 17-7, adding two state-tournament victories to the 15-7 record listed on its UIL tournament profile.
A narrow lead becomes a championship
Centennial emerged from doubles with a 4-3 advantage, then won six of the seven completed singles matches to reach the 10 points needed to finish the final. The Titans won all four completed boys singles matches and added two wins in girls singles, the official box score shows.
Wylie had reached the final with a 10-0 semifinal victory over College Station A&M Consolidated. Centennial’s route included another one-point win, 10-9 over Dallas Highland Park, before victories over Midlothian, Frisco High and Flour Bluff.
The final was Centennial’s seventh consecutive playoff victory. UIL championship archives list the Titans as 5A winners in 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26; Thursday’s result extends that run to four titles.
