Centennial and Reedy take unbeaten district tennis titles into playoffs

Centennial and Reedy will lead seven Frisco ISD tennis teams into the playoffs after completing unbeaten district seasons, the district announced Wednesday.

Centennial went 7-0 to win District 11-5A, while Reedy finished 6-0 atop District 6-5A. The opening playoff round is scheduled for Oct. 5–6. Frisco ISD said pairings were still being finalized in its Sept. 30 update.

Independence, Frisco and Lebanon Trail also qualified from District 11-5A. Lone Star advanced from District 6-5A, and Wakeland earned a postseason spot in District 5-6A.

Centennial enters the postseason seeking to build on three consecutive Class 5A state championships. The district reported that six of its seven qualifying teams appeared in the latest Texas Tennis Coaches Association state rankings.

For local fans, the next detail to watch is the first-round schedule: opponents, venues and match times were not included in Wednesday’s district announcement.
