Culinary Dropout, the patio-and-live-music restaurant brand from Phoenix-based Fox Restaurant Concepts, has put a Frisco location on file with the state.

A project registered Tuesday with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation lists a Culinary Dropout at 14401 Wentwood Ave., Suite D170, inside the Fields West development. The filing puts the estimated cost at $3.1 million, with construction scheduled to start Jan. 8, 2027, and finish July 6, 2027. An earlier version of the same project was registered Oct. 2.

What the filing describes

According to the state record, the work is a tenant finish-out of a shell building. The single-level restaurant would have 7,253 square feet of interior space, including a kitchen, bar and restrooms, plus 2,220 square feet of patio dining, for a total of 9,473 square feet. The record says the project is privately funded and that the tenant is paying for it.

Fields West Propco, LP, with a Plano address, is listed as the property owner. The design firm is Nelsen Partners of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dates in state construction filings are estimates and can change. What Now Dallas, which first reported the plans, said it asked Culinary Dropout for an opening timeline and had not heard back before publishing.

About the restaurant and the district

What Now Dallas described the brand's menu as comfort food such as soft pretzels with beer cheese, fried chicken and burgers, served alongside a large bar program, with a big patio and live music as part of the format.

Fields West is a 55-acre, $800 million mixed-use district in the Fields master-planned community along the Dallas North Tollway. Restaurants and stores already announced for the project include Mastro's Steakhouse, Maman, North Italia, Mexican Sugar and Crate & Barrel, according to What Now Dallas, citing Fields West.

No opening date for the Frisco Culinary Dropout has been announced.
