FC Dallas can clinch playoff berth with Seattle win and help Wednesday

A playoff place could be settled in Frisco on Wednesday night, but FC Dallas cannot do it on its own.

Dallas hosts Seattle at Toyota Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Central on October 14. A victory is essential to every clinching route published by Major League Soccer; Dallas also needs help from other Western Conference results.

After a Dallas win, any one of these combinations would secure its postseason berth:

• Portland and Real Salt Lake both lose or draw.
• Portland and San Diego both lose or draw.
• Colorado loses, and Real Salt Lake loses or draws.
• Colorado loses, and San Diego loses or draws.
• Real Salt Lake and San Diego both lose or draw.

Portland visits the LA Galaxy, Salt Lake hosts San Jose, San Diego hosts Houston and Colorado hosts Minnesota. The scoreboard watching is optional; Dallas taking care of its own match is not.

Dallas enters with 47 points and a 13–7–8 record. Seattle has 41 points at 11–9–8. Apple TV carries the match in English and Spanish, while club audio coverage begins at 7 p.m. Central on the FC Dallas app and YouTube channel.
