The Dallas Cowboys will open their 2026 training camp in Oxnard, California, this week, with the team reporting on Monday, July 27, and the first fan-accessible practices beginning July 29.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer, entering his second season, is scheduled to hold his opening press conference on July 29 alongside owner Jerry Jones and executive vice president Stephen Jones. The team will mark the start of camp with its annual Back Together Saturday event on August 1. Practices are free and open to the public through August 18.
The biggest question of camp is on defense. Dallas allowed a league-worst 30 points per game in 2025 and has handed the unit to a new coordinator, Christian Parker, who is installing a 3-4 scheme. According to ESPN, the Cowboys could line up as many as seven new starters on that side of the ball.
The offense, by contrast, returns largely intact after averaging 27.7 points per game last season, giving Schottenheimer a settled group while the reworked defense tries to catch up. It is the 20th year the Cowboys have based training camp in Oxnard.
