HCL Group plans to spend 500 crore rupees to enlarge HCL IT City, the HCLTech campus in Lucknow, India, the company said Tuesday in a release filed with Indian stock exchanges.
The expansion would add up to 9.5 lakh (about 950,000) square feet of space, enough room for 4,500 more technology workers, according to the release. The announcement came at an event marking 10 years since the Lucknow campus opened in 2016, attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and HCLTech chairperson Roshni Nadar Malhotra.
The campus now has more than 12,500 employees and serves more than 150 corporate clients around the world, the company said.
Training programs
HCLTech also said it will put 1,000 students from Uttar Pradesh through artificial intelligence training in its LITMUS program during its 2027 fiscal year. The group opened the HCL-GUVI Emerging Technology Centre at the Lucknow campus to teach AI, data analytics and related skills, and the company said it works with more than 40 engineering colleges in the region.
"This expansion reflects our enduring trust in the talent, ambition and potential of Uttar Pradesh," Nadar Malhotra said in the release.
