Frisco, Texas — FC Dallas has added goalkeeper Daniel in a trade with the San Jose Earthquakes, a roster move involving the club that plays its home matches at Toyota Stadium in Frisco.

San Jose receives up to $1 million in General Allocation Money under the agreement. Of that total, $700,000 is guaranteed and $300,000 is conditional, according to MLS and Field Level Media.

Daniel has 15 clean sheets in 86 appearances in all competitions since becoming San Jose’s first-choice goalkeeper in 2023, MLS reported. The 32-year-old has a U.S. green card, so he does not occupy an international roster slot.

André Zanotta, FC Dallas’ chief soccer officer, said Daniel’s league experience will create additional competition among the club’s goalkeepers. Michael Collodi had begun the season as the starter, recording three shutouts in 13 appearances.

The transaction followed San Jose’s signing of Scottish goalkeeper Angus Gunn. The FC Dallas move is a roster addition rather than a game recap.
