The Houston Astros defeated the Oakland Athletics 4-0 on Saturday, August 22, at Daikin Park. The home team built its lead through a combination of extra-base hits and timely baserunning, while the Athletics failed to record a single run. Scoring Sequence

He struck out three batters. Bryan Abreu pitched one inning, allowing no hits or earned runs but issuing two walks and striking out two. Steven Okert and Enyel De Los Santos each pitched one inning of scoreless relief, allowing no hits, no walks, and no strikeouts.

The loss for Oakland was assigned to J.T. Ginn, who pitched five innings, allowing six hits and three earned runs while walking two and striking out four.
