The Cowboys return to a short week with a much better finish to build on. Dallas scored four second-half touchdowns to beat Houston 34–30 on Sunday, Oct. 4, then turned toward Thursday’s home game against Tampa Bay at AT&T Stadium.

Javonte Williams supplied the first three touchdowns, twice in the third quarter and once in the fourth. His final score capped a 14-play drive on which Dak Prescott completed all nine of his passes for 89 yards, according to the Cowboys’ game report. Dallas had trailed 16–6 at halftime.

That first lead did not settle the game. Houston moved back ahead 30–27 before Prescott directed an 11-play, 74-yard touchdown drive. His 12-yard pass to CeeDee Lamb provided the winning points.

Prescott finished 32 of 45 for 335 yards. Lamb caught 17 passes for 189 yards, giving Dallas a dependable target through the comeback.

The final offensive totals were nearly level, 399 yards for Dallas and 397 for Houston. The more consequential difference was the Cowboys’ ability to finish their last scoring opportunity, a week after a narrow loss to Baltimore.
