JPMorgan Chase said on Thursday that it has leased two floors at The Tower at Hall Park in Frisco, 41,000 square feet at 6605 Warren Parkway, for an office it expects to open in early 2028.
It will start with 120 bankers working in the firm's commercial, private and wealth management businesses, with room to reach 150.
Putting the number in proportion
A JPMorgan Chase office arriving in Frisco sounds like a large event, and in one sense it is: the bank is the biggest in Collin County, holding $8.4 billion in deposits across 34 branches as of June 30, 2025, according to Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. data.
The Frisco headcount is a different matter. At 150 people, this office would not appear among the ten largest employers in the city. Frisco's most recent annual comprehensive financial report lists Frisco ISD at about 8,850, the Dallas Cowboys organisation at roughly 2,000, the city itself at 1,866, HCL Technologies at 1,500 and Keurig Dr Pepper at about 1,213.
The tenth entry on that list sits around 500.
That is not a criticism of the deal. It is the difference between a satellite office and a campus, and this is plainly the former.
The campus is three miles away
The comparison that explains the announcement is not Frisco against other cities. It is Frisco against Plano.
The bank's Legacy campus, about three miles from the Tower at Hall Park, covers 50 acres and 1.2 million square feet and holds 13,000 employees, according to the company. Plano's own financial report lists JPMorgan Chase as the city's single largest employer, at 11,261. The two figures are close and are counted differently, one by the company and one by the city.
Against 13,000 people three miles south, 120 bankers in leased space reads less like an expansion into a new market and more like the bank taking additional room near a campus it already occupies, in a building on the other side of a municipal boundary.
Why Frisco, and why now
The bank has more staff in Texas than in New York, 32,000 against a smaller New York number, including 17,000 across Dallas-Fort Worth. The Frisco lease is an increment on a footprint that is already among the largest in the region.
The office is not due to open until early 2028, which is a long runway by the standards of these announcements and worth remembering when the ribbon is eventually cut. Commercial, private and wealth management are also client-facing lines.
Where those bankers sit tends to follow where their clients live, and Frisco has spent fifteen years accumulating exactly the sort of clients those businesses are organised around.
