City officials in Frisco have unveiled an early conceptual design for the Northwest Community Park, which includes a structure intended for gravity riding. The proposed facility would allow cyclists to ride down a tower, with renderings depicting a structure approximately 100 feet tall. However, presenters noted that the final construction would likely result in a smaller tower, with costs scaling down accordingly. The estimated price tag for the full 100-foot version was listed at $2.43 million. The park is located directly south of the upcoming PGA Frisco headquarters.
In other regional news, Perky Beans Cafe has opened its doors in Leander. Owner Angie Diaz stated that the establishment will serve breakfast throughout the day, with future plans to extend hours to include dinner service.
Also in Central Texas, the Amazon Fulfillment Center in Pflugerville, known as AUS2, has officially begun operations. A company representative confirmed that the facility will continue its hiring process into the next year.
Further south in Austin, developer Craig Bryan has proposed a new outdoor amphitheater in Southwest Austin. The Violet Crown Amphitheater is designed to hold more than 20,000 seats. Bryan expressed hope that the venue will support the city’s reputation as a live music capital as the population continues to grow.
In Frisco, the restaurant La Hacienda Ranch, located at 4110 Preston Road, reported challenges in securing workers and supplies needed for repairs following a kitchen fire. The business shared this update on Facebook on Oct. 15.
