Prosper and Celina residents must navigate specific restrictions on fireworks and modified municipal service hours as they prepare for the Fourth of July holiday. Prosper is located approximately 6 miles north of Frisco.

Both municipalities prohibit the sale, possession, and use of fireworks within their corporate limits. These bans extend to extraterritorial jurisdictions within 5,000 feet of the city boundaries. Fireworks remain permitted on private property in the unincorporated areas of Denton and Collin counties outside these restricted zones.

For those seeking public displays, Prosper will host its Pride in the Sky event on July 2. The celebration at Frontier Park runs from 5 to 10 p.m. and includes vendors, food trucks, and live music. The fireworks display is scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m.

Municipal services will see schedule changes. The Prosper Community Library and its book drop-off will be closed on July 3 and 4. Prosper’s town administrative services, including utility billing and the 407 Rec Center, will also close on July 3. The Celina Public Library will be closed on July 4.

Celina City Hall operates on a four-day schedule and will not be affected by the holiday. Normal trash and recycling services will continue in both Prosper and Celina. However, Prosper will not offer Saturday bulk trash drop-off this week.

Further details regarding additional holiday events or service adjustments were not provided.
