A series of residential blazes struck four North Texas communities on Friday morning as thunderstorms passed through the region near 9 a.m. Emergency responders attributed the incidents to lightning strikes.

In Frisco, the fire department tackled a one-alarm blaze at a single-family residence on Possum Kingdom Drive. The structure sustained heavy damage, though witnesses reported no injuries. One observer captured video showing flames consuming the roof of the home located near Panther Creek Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway.

Plano Fire-Rescue is examining lightning as the probable origin of at least five separate fires within the city. One incident occurred at an unoccupied house on Gull Lake Drive, where fire damaged the attic and roof.

Allen firefighters faced complications while battling a blaze in the attic of a two-story dwelling on Morrow Lane. A firefighter fell through a ceiling during operations and was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. All other occupants escaped safely, and officials presume lightning started the fire.

In North Dallas, authorities issued a four-alarm response for a large attic fire at a three-story home on Ash Bluff Lane. More than 70 firefighters responded to the scene. It remains unclear whether anyone was inside the residence at the time, but no injuries have been reported.
