Mark Hill has been elected mayor of Frisco, ending a nine-year period without a change in the city's leadership. Hill secured 58% of the vote in the June 13 runoff election, defeating his opponent Rod Vilhauer, who received 42%. The final tally shows Hill collecting 19,632 votes compared to Vilhauer's 14,146.

The victory concludes a competitive primary season that began in May with four candidates. Hill initially led that field with 35% of the vote, followed by Vilhauer at 31%, Shona Sowell at 21%, and former city council member John Keating at approximately 13%. Because no candidate achieved a majority in the initial round, the top two finishers advanced to the runoff.

Hill, a Frisco ISD school board member and local attorney, stated that his professional background in navigating complex regulations and building consensus informs his approach to the role. He emphasized managing the city's rapid expansion, focusing on infrastructure, traffic, and public safety while ensuring new development strengthens the tax base. Election results remain unofficial until the city council canvasses them during a work session on June 23.
