Mark Hill has been elected mayor of Frisco after defeating Rod Vilhauer in a June 13 runoff election. Hill captured more than 58 percent of the vote, totaling over 19,000 ballots, to become the city’s first new mayor in nine years.
During the campaign, Hill emphasized his legal background and leadership roles on the Frisco ISD and economic development boards. Vilhauer focused on his experience operating a large construction firm and his four decades of residency in the area. Both candidates identified public safety, low taxes, robust services, and business attraction as key priorities.
Hill stated he intends to serve as a positive ambassador and a deliberate leader, focusing on attracting disciplined development to maintain low taxes and generate revenue. He described his approach as positive and future-oriented. The city retains approximately 10 to 15 percent of its residential build-out capacity.
