Plano Parks and Libraries Adjust Hours for Independence Day

Several municipal buildings and parks in Plano will close or operate on modified schedules on July 4 to observe the holiday.

Plano is about 12 miles southeast of Frisco.

The City of Plano has announced that multiple public facilities will either shut down or run on modified schedules on July 4 to mark Independence Day. The adjustments apply to a wide range of services, including libraries, recreation centers, and administrative offices.

According to the city’s official website, the following locations will remain completely closed on July 4:

  • The Plano Animal Shelter
  • The Day Labor Center
  • The Plano Municipal Center
  • All public libraries, including those in Davis, Haggard, Harrington, Parr, and Schimelpfenig
  • The Sam Johnson Recreation Center
  • The Texas Pure Products Regional Composting Site and the Custer Road Facility

Other facilities will remain open but will operate with reduced hours. The Carpenter Park, Oak Point, and Liberty Recreation Centers will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The High Point Tennis Center will open earlier, operating from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Swimming facilities will also see schedule changes. The Jack Carter Pool and the Plano Aquatic Center will both be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the holiday.

Residents are advised to check the city website for any further updates regarding holiday operations. Details about specific programs or events that may have been rescheduled are not yet clear.
