Kamilla Musser, 47, of Frisco, pleaded guilty to first-degree injury to a child in Tyler on Thursday. She was sentenced to 10 years of probation, which cannot be terminated early, along with 90 days in jail. The court also ordered her to reimburse case costs and write a 10-page apology letter within 15 days.
Musser is prohibited from living with or having unsupervised contact with anyone under 18. She must stay 2,000 feet away from schools, parks, churches, and any location where minors are present. Additional probation terms require her to serve eight days in jail during the victim’s birthday and Christmas for the first five years. Her Texas teaching license cannot be renewed.
Authorities arrested Musser in May 2024 following allegations of long-term abuse. A teacher reported visible injuries in March 2023, leading to a CPS investigation that found scarring on the child. Forensic interviews and medical assessments corroborated claims of physical maltreatment over an extended period.
