The City of Frisco announced the opening of its new five-story downtown parking garage on June 18, 2026. The facility is located at the northeast corner of Elm and 3rd Streets and provides 450 free public parking spaces for residents and visitors.

Drivers can access the structure from both Elm and 3rd Streets. Upon arrival, four charging station spaces for electric vehicles are available on the first floor. Once parked, individuals may use the stairs or elevators to reach the ground floor. The elevator on the southeast corner of the garage is currently operational, while the northwest elevator will open at a later date.

The project includes safety features such as security cameras and emergency call stations. Six retail tenant spaces are available on the ground level, with businesses expected to set up shop in the future.

The $27 million project was funded through $20 million in voter-approved bonds from 2023 and an additional $7 million infrastructure grant from the Frisco Economic Development Corporation. This garage is part of the city's nearly $80 million total reinvestment in the downtown Rail District.

This development follows other recent city initiatives, including a special runoff election in June 2026, the launch of a transportation service centered on the downtown Rail District, and traffic adjustments on PGA Parkway. The city continues to update residents on weekly roadwork and community programs as part of its ongoing downtown revitalization efforts.
