Anthem Drive will be closed at King Road for one week beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2026. This closure is part of the King Road Widening Project and allows crews to reconstruct the intersection. The closure remains in addition to the previously announced closure of westbound King Road, which remains in effect.

During this period, drivers will not be able to enter or exit the Frisco Lakes neighborhood from King Road using Anthem Drive. Traffic that normally uses Anthem Drive to reach eastbound King Road will be directed south on Anthem Drive to exit the neighborhood at West Stonebrook Parkway. Residents may also travel through the adjacent Villages of Creekwood neighborhood and use Drake Lane to access eastbound King Road.

The city has provided a map of closures and detours in PDF format for reference. This weeklong closure will focus on removing the old pavement and preparing the ground for the new intersection. The road will be closed again at a later date to pave the new intersection, which will be announced once it is scheduled.

Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zone and to find an alternate route in advance. Drivers can also use the Waze app to navigate road closures. Information about Waze is available online, or residents can install it on their smartphones.

This announcement follows other recent traffic updates in Frisco, including the closure of Lone Star Ranch Parkway between Stonebrook Parkway and Lebanon Road on June 22, a traffic switch on PGA Parkway between Preston Road and Coit Road on June 16, and the activation of a new traffic signal on Dallas Parkway at Fields Parkway and Universal Parkway on June 2.
