As the first week of the college football season approaches, Baylor University has released its official depth chart for the upcoming game against Auburn. The chart reveals some expected positions but also highlights several ongoing battles as the team prepares for the match in Atlanta.

One of the notable position battles is at wide receiver, where Jadon Porter and Dre'lon Miller are listed as co-starters for the third WR spot. Miller, a transfer from Colorado, missed some practice time due to injury but was anticipated to be a significant addition to the offense.

Porter, who caught nine passes for 85 yards and a touchdown last season, has also made a strong case for playing time, suggesting that he may serve as a key contributor regardless of who starts.

The starting offensive line has largely shaped up as expected. After Memphis transfer Yakiri Walker lost his eligibility, Koltin Sieracki has taken over the center position. The starting lineup will include Logan Moore at left tackle, Nate Kibble at left guard, Asher Hale at right guard, and Kaden Sieracki at right tackle, with Kaden being the only returning full-time starter.

Defensively, the depth chart raises questions at nose tackle and strong safety. Hosea Wheeler, a transfer from Indiana, is in a competition with Jamaal Whyce Jr. for the nose tackle position, while Jacob Redding is in a similar situation with Devin Turner at strong safety.

Both Wheeler and Redding are expected to play significant roles this season, although neither has been confirmed as a starter yet.

At tight end, Matthew Klopfenstein has been named the starter over Florida transfer Tony Livingston. Klopfenstein, who caught eight passes for 73 yards last season, will be expected to step up in his fourth year with the team. Livingston is also expected to see some playing time, but his role remains to be fully defined.

The depth chart release provides insight into Baylor's preparations as they gear up for their season opener against Auburn, though further details on specific roles and strategies are not yet clear.
