During the opening set of the Texas Longhorns' volleyball match against TCU, outside hitter Abby Vander Wal exited the game due to a knee injury. The incident occurred during a scramble on the left side of the court, where Vander Wal fell and remained down for the duration of the play, visibly clutching her knee.

Training staff assisted her off the court as she was unable to put weight on her leg. Vander Wal did not return for the remainder of the set, which the Longhorns ultimately won by sweeping TCU. Before her exit, she contributed two kills and her topspin serve helped initiate two scoring runs for Texas.

Further details regarding the severity of Vander Wal's injury have not yet been provided, and this story is still developing.
