Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks because of a hamstring injury, executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday. The team has not announced whether Thompson will officially be placed on injured reserve, though he is viewed as a possible candidate for the list.
Thompson was injured during the second quarter of Dallas' 34-31 defeat against the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. The injury adds to the absences affecting the Cowboys' safety group.
Malik Hooker has missed the past two games with a forearm injury. P.J. Locke was placed on injured reserve Saturday because of a foot injury.
Before leaving the game, Thompson had participated in every defensive play during Dallas' first nine-plus quarters of the season and had recorded 17 tackles.
