Dallas Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson is likely to miss at least four weeks because of a hamstring injury, executive vice president Stephen Jones said. Jones also indicated that Dallas will seek additional help at safety because of injuries at the position.
Thompson was injured during the Cowboys’ 34-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil. Dallas appeared to be in position to force overtime late in the game, but Baltimore completed a long pass before making a field goal to win.
The Cowboys entered the game with a 1-2 record. The team had also allowed the New York Giants to produce a strong offensive performance in Week 1 and gave up late production to Marcus Mariota in Week 2.
The source did not identify which players or teams the Cowboys might pursue for help at safety. Dallas is scheduled to play the 0-3 Houston Texans next Sunday at 1 p.m. Eastern time in Houston.
