The Dallas Cowboys have restructured the contracts of players Jake Ferguson, DaRon Bland, and Kenny Clark to enhance their financial flexibility ahead of the 2026 NFL season.

This move is part of a series of contract adjustments made by the Cowboys during the offseason to create additional salary cap room. Notable players such as Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Tyler Smith, Terence Steele, and Malik Hooker have also had their contracts restructured or modified.

Bland and Ferguson have both signed contract extensions, ensuring their stay with the Cowboys through 2025. Bland's new four-year deal is worth $92 million, extending his contract through 2030. Ferguson has also secured a four-year extension valued at $52 million, keeping him with the team until 2030 as well.

Kenny Clark's contract has been restructured for the second time this offseason, with his current deal now extending through the 2028 season.

The restructuring provides the Cowboys with increased options for potential personnel changes. Team owner Jerry Jones has indicated that while he is not actively seeking a major acquisition, the team remains open to opportunities that could enhance their roster.

"I'm even more excited today than I was when we started camp that our team is going to be one that if we can have some things go right for us, avoid some injury, we could really be something that we all want to be, and that's a team that's competing for the big game," Jones stated during training camp in Oxnard, California.

While the contract adjustments do not definitively signal that the Cowboys are pursuing high-priced players, they do provide the team with greater flexibility should they decide to make moves during the season. Additionally, these changes can positively impact their salary cap situation for the 2027 season.
