The Houston Texans have announced a series of roster moves as they finalize their team ahead of the Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills on September 13. A total of 22 players have been waived, including notable names such as wide receiver Zay Jones and quarterback Brett Rypien.
Among the players waived are Dominic Bailey, a defensive tackle from Tennessee, and Lewis Bond, a wide receiver from Boston College. Other players released include linebacker Caleb Johnson and tight end Brevin Jordan, both of whom have had significant experience in the league.
In addition to the waivers, the Texans have also released several players, including cornerback Bryce Hall and safety George Odum. Furthermore, they have agreed to trade center/guard Jarrett Patterson to the San Francisco 49ers and have acquired tackle Nathan Thomas from the Dallas Cowboys.
The Texans have placed several players on the Reserve/Injured list, including wide receiver Tank Dell and safety Ja'Marcus Ingram, both of whom are designated for return. Defensive end Ali Gaye has been placed on the Reserve/Injured list, while linebacker E.J. Speed has been moved to the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list.
