Houston’s two leading running backs enter Sunday’s game against Dallas with 168 rushing yards on 59 attempts through three games, according to the Texans’ official player statistics. That works out to about 2.8 yards per carry.

David Montgomery has 103 yards on 37 carries and two rushing touchdowns. Woody Marks has added 65 yards on 22 attempts, including one touchdown. Those figures cover the two backs, rather than Houston’s entire rushing offense.

Both have also contributed as receivers. Montgomery has seven catches for 48 yards and a touchdown; Marks has seven receptions for 31 yards.

The Texans are seeking their first win after an 0–3 start. They host the Dallas Cowboys at Reliant Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 4, with kickoff scheduled for noon Central. FOX is carrying the game.

The statistics describe work already recorded. They do not establish that either player’s role will change against Dallas.
