Houston Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said Nico Collins and Ed Ingram are expected to have a chance to play Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, after both missed the previous two games. Ryans said the team is hopeful both players will be available for the Week 4 matchup.
Collins, a Pro Bowl wide receiver, has been a central part of Houston's passing game. The three-time 1,000-yard receiver has been out of the lineup while the Texans have struggled to create production on the outside, with Dalton Schultz the main exception.
Xavier Hutchinson led Houston in receiving over the past two games with nine catches for 120 yards. Collins previously posted seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown in one game against the Buffalo Bills.
Ingram's absence has affected the offensive line, with Wyatt Teller starting at right guard. Houston has gained 130 rushing yards and scored one rushing touchdown across the last two games.
Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who has also missed two games because of a knee injury, remains considered week-to-week. Houston recorded five sacks and forced two fumbles in its previous game despite the absences along the edge.
