Dalton Schultz, tight end for the Houston Texans, did not play in any of the team's three preseason games. Alongside Schultz, wide receiver Nico Collins and running back David Montgomery also sat out, while quarterback C.J. Stroud had limited playtime during the game against the Raiders on August 20.
Schultz is coming off a strong 2025 regular season, where he achieved a career-high 82 receptions and recorded 777 receiving yards, marking his best performance since the 2021 season with the Cowboys, where he had 808 yards.
With Jayden Higgins sidelined for the entire 2026 season due to a knee injury and Tank Dell starting the season on injured reserve, Schultz and Collins are expected to be key targets for Stroud in the upcoming season.
Further details regarding the Texans' roster and injury status are not yet clear.
