Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins missed his second consecutive practice because of a hamstring injury, making his availability for the team’s Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts uncertain. Houston still has one practice remaining before Sunday’s matchup, so a final decision on Collins had not yet been provided.

Collins injured the hamstring while preparing for Week 2 and did not play against the Cincinnati Bengals. The 27-year-old had seven receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets during Houston’s 36-31 Week 1 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

If Collins cannot play at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, other Houston receivers, including Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte, could receive additional opportunities. Tight end Dalton Schultz has led the Texans in downfield production through two games, totaling 175 receiving yards on 16 catches.

A Week 3 absence would mean Collins’ next opportunity to play comes in Week 4, when Houston is scheduled to host the Dallas Cowboys. Collins has recorded at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past three seasons, including 1,117 yards in 2025, and the injury places that streak in jeopardy.

Collins, a former Michigan Wolverines player, also received a contract adjustment from the Texans during the offseason. The report was published by sports.yahoo.com and originally appeared on ClutchPoints.
