The Houston Texans have added former Denver Broncos running back Deuce Vaughn to their roster, as announced by the team on Monday. Vaughn, who stands at 5 feet 5 inches and weighs 185 pounds, spent the entire 2025 season on the Broncos' practice squad after joining it in September of the previous year.
He re-signed with Denver on a reserve/future contract in January but was cut by the team in May. Following his release, Vaughn played for the UFL's Orlando Storm before returning to the NFL with the Texans.
To accommodate Vaughn's signing, the Texans waived former Broncos wide receiver Juwann Winfree. Additionally, the Texans conducted workouts with former Denver receiver Josh Reynolds and running back Blake Watson, according to the NFL's transaction wire.
Currently, four other former Broncos practice squad players remain free agents after their contracts expired in February. These players include quarterback Ben DiNucci, tight ends Marcedes Lewis and Patrick Murtagh, and defensive back Delarrin Turner-Yell. Meanwhile, defensive lineman Jonathan Harris recently worked out for the Minnesota Vikings.
