Baylor University has announced the addition of Gao Duanrui to its women's tennis team for the 2026-27 season. Head coach Joey Scrivano expressed enthusiasm about the signing, highlighting Duanrui's work ethic, mental toughness, and dedication to improvement.
Gao Duanrui, hailing from Tianjin, China, has achieved career-high rankings of No. 1,186 in singles and No. 1,435 in doubles on the WTA tour. Over her career, she has secured 52 singles victories, including notable wins at the 2026 M15 Tianjin and the 2025 W15 Luan and Maanshan tournaments.
In doubles play, she has reached the quarterfinals five times, with her appearances at the 2026 W15 Tianjin and three separate draws at the 2025 W15 Luan, along with another quarterfinal run at the 2025 W15 Maanshan.
The Baylor women's tennis team concluded the 2025 season ranked No. 34 in the ITA Year-End team rankings, marking their 27th NCAA Tournament appearance and 19th trip to the second round. The season also featured four All-Big 12 selections, three ranked victories, and two players qualifying for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
