North Carolina traveled to Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, and defeated the host TCU Horned Frogs 15-10. The matchup served as the season opener for both programs, with the Tar Heels improving to a 1-0 record while the Horned Frogs fell to 0-1.
The decisive moment arrived in the third quarter when Aeron Burrell converted a 28-yard field goal, extending North Carolina's lead to the final margin. The game was tightly contested throughout, with neither team able to pull away until that late kick.
First-Half Back and Forth
