Early Scoring Surge

Texas jumped out to an early lead, scoring six runs in the second inning to take control of the contest. The Longhorns opened the scoring in the first inning when E. Mendoza doubled to left, allowing A. Robbins to score and C. Tinney to reach third. A. Rodriguez followed with a double to right, bringing in Tinney and Mendoza to make it 3-0.

The offense exploded in the second inning. L. Vaughn singled to left to score J. Lemm, making it 3-1. A. Pack Jr. then singled to left to bring in C. Borba, followed by E. Mendoza’s single to right that scored Tinney. Rodriguez completed the inning’s damage with a triple to deep left center, scoring Pack Jr. and Mendoza to extend the lead to 7-1.

Home Runs Extend Lead

Alabama managed to score in the fourth inning when J. Lemm homered to right, making the score 7-2. However, Texas responded immediately in the sixth inning. A. Pack Jr. launched a home run to left, scoring A. Robbins, and Rodriguez followed with a home run to right, bringing in C. Early. The Longhorns’ lead grew to 11-2.

Closing Out the Game

Texas added three more runs in the eighth inning. A. Pack Jr. singled to left to score Robbins, and B. Peterson’s groundout allowed P. Courville to score. Rodriguez capped the scoring with a double to right, driving in Pack Jr. for the final run.

P. Riojas earned the win for Texas, pitching six innings and allowing two earned runs with seven strikeouts. P. Walls added two scoreless innings, while P. Walker and P. Howard closed out the game. For Alabama, P. Adams took the loss, giving up seven earned runs in 1.2 innings.
