Seager provides the power
Corey Seager delivered the decisive blow in the third inning, launching a 391-foot home run to right field. The solo shot extended the Texas Rangers' lead to 3-0 and proved to be the turning point in a contest that saw both offenses struggle to generate consistent momentum.
Seager had already contributed earlier in the game. In the first inning, he scored on a double by Marcus Nimmo. Nimmo’s hit to right field allowed Seager to cross the plate, giving Texas an early 1-0 advantage before Nimmo was thrown out at third base on a fielder's choice.
Late rallies fall short
The Kansas City Royals managed to chip away at the deficit in the fourth inning. After grounding into a double play that scored one run, the Royals added another when Misner singled to right field, driving in Caglianone. This brought the score to 3-2 and briefly threatened to keep Kansas City in the game.
Texas responded in the sixth inning. With the lead still narrow, Carter singled to right field, allowing Duran to score. This run pushed the Rangers ahead 4-2. Despite the Royals' efforts to rally, they could not overcome the early deficit or the late insurance run.
