Late Surge Secures Victory
The Texas Rangers defeated the Los Angeles Angels 5-3 on Sunday at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The decisive runs for the home club came in the eighth inning, where the Rangers scored three times to narrow the gap and ultimately take the lead. This late flurry allowed the Rangers to pull away from a deficit they had faced for much of the game.
The final score reflected a strong offensive effort from the home side, which managed to outscore the visiting Angels in the critical final frames. Attendance at the venue was 31,593 for the contest.
Early Angel Offense
The Los Angeles Angels established an early lead in the second inning. Juan Duran homered to left center, driving the ball 403 feet to open the scoring. Following that, Jace Freeman tripled to center, allowing O'Hoppe to score.
Freeman then advanced to second on a sacrifice fly by Diaz, who scored to make the score 0-3. Diaz added to the lead in the fifth inning with a home run to left center, traveling 421 feet. He was followed by Peyton Gray, who pitched one and one-third innings with one hit, one earned run, and two strikeouts.
Tyler Alexander pitched one-third of an inning, allowing three hits and two earned runs. Chase Silseth recorded the hold, pitching one-third of an inning without allowing hits, earned runs, or walks.
Final Records
Jacob Latz recorded the save, pitching one inning with one hit, one walk, and two strikeouts while allowing no earned runs. The win improved the Texas Rangers’ record to 65-66. The Los Angeles Angels fell to 52-79.
Yusei Kikuchi took the loss, pitching five innings with seven hits, five earned runs, one walk, and four strikeouts. Luke Murphy, Sammy Peralta, and Jose Fermin each pitched one inning for the Angels, combining for no earned runs allowed.
