Pederson’s Homers Lead Rangers Past Mariners 7-3

Pederson Drives In Runs

Joc Pederson provided the offensive spark for the Texas Rangers, hitting two home runs to help secure a 7-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners. The Rangers improved their record to 54-52, while the Mariners fell to 52-55.

Pederson’s first home run came in the top of the first inning, a 418-foot shot to center field that gave Seattle an early 1-0 lead. However, the momentum shifted quickly. In the bottom of the second inning, Pederson launched another home run, this one measuring 347 feet to right field.

The blast drove in two additional runs, as Nathaniel Lowe and Adolis García crossed the plate, turning a 1-1 game into a 4-1 Rangers advantage.

Rangers Extend Lead

The Rangers added more insurance in the third inning. After a sacrifice fly by Ezequiel Duran brought home one run to make it 5-2, Pederson’s earlier impact was fully realized as the team continued to pile on runs. A two-run homer by Josh Jung extended the lead further to 7-2.

The Mariners managed to score in the ninth inning when a sacrifice fly by Evan Carter plated one run, making the final score 7-3.

Pitching Performance

Kumar Rocker earned the win for Texas, pitching 6.2 innings and allowing two earned runs on four hits while striking out seven batters. He improved his record to 4-8. Robby Ahlstrom pitched 0.1 inning without allowing a hit or run.

Jakob Junis closed out the middle relief with one scoreless inning, and Jacob Latz secured the final out in the ninth, despite giving up an earned run.

For Seattle, George Kirby took the loss after pitching four innings. He allowed seven runs on seven hits with no walks but struck out three batters, dropping his record to 8-9. Jose Ferrer, Michael Rucker, Cole Wilcox, and Alex Hoppe pitched scoreless relief innings for the Mariners.

Game Details

The game was played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, in front of 27,683 fans. The Rangers’ victory highlighted their offensive capability, particularly from Pederson, who accounted for three of the team’s seven runs via home runs and RBIs. The Mariners struggled to contain Texas’s power hitting throughout the game.
