Quantrill Dominates
Cal Quantrill anchored the Texas Rangers' 6-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, September 4, at Globe Life Field. The right-hander pitched seven innings, allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out five batters. Quantrill did not allow a run, earning the win and improving his record to 7-5.
The Rangers' offense provided timely support, scoring their first run in the fourth inning when Austin Foscue singled to left field, driving in Josh Langford.
Seager Powers Offense
The Rangers extended their lead in the fifth inning with a pair of scoring plays. First, Duran singled to right field to score O'Hoppe. Shortly after, Corey Seager homered to right center, a 403-foot shot that drove in Duran and added two more runs to the total.
The Rangers finished with six runs, while the Rays were held scoreless. The game featured exactly one home run, hit by Seager.
