Alonso Powers Offense

Pete Alonso delivered a pivotal offensive performance, hitting two home runs to help the Baltimore Orioles defeat the Texas Rangers 10-5 at Globe Life Field on Sunday. Alonso’s power surge was a key component of the Orioles’ scoring output, contributing significantly to the final margin.

Alonso’s first home run came in the second inning, a two-run shot to left field measuring 393 feet. This blast extended the Orioles' lead and provided momentum. Later in the game, Alonso added another home run in the fourth inning, a two-run drive to left center field that measured 404 feet. These two home runs accounted for four of the team's ten total runs.

Scoring Sequence

The Orioles established an early lead in the first inning. Austin Hays reached on an infield single to first, allowing Alonso to score. Taveras then doubled to right field, bringing Hays home. The lead grew in the second inning when Kyle Tucker homered to center field, measuring 441 feet.

The Rangers managed to score in the third inning when Andrew Heaney homered to center field (434 feet), driving in two runs. However, the Orioles responded immediately. In the fourth inning, after Alonso’s second home run, the score stood at 7-3.

A walk to Santander allowed Hays to score. Lopez then tripled to center field, bringing Santander home. Duran grounded out to third, allowing Lopez to score, making the final score 10-5.

Baltimore’s pitching staff mixed results. Cade Povich started for the Orioles, pitching 3.0 innings. He allowed 4 hits and 3 earned runs while striking out 2 batters.
