A Fifth-Inning Explosion Defines the Night
The Chicago White Sox secured a decisive 10-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night at Globe Life Field, a result driven largely by a pivotal offensive surge in the middle innings. While the game remained tight through the early frames, a three-run double by Benintendi in the fifth inning shifted the momentum permanently in Chicago’s favor.
The White Sox established an early lead when Pederson launched a home run to right-center field, measuring 423 feet, in the top of the first inning. The Rangers responded in the second, with Carter singling to right to drive in Duran, tying the contest briefly before the White Sox regained the lead.
In the third, Vargas doubled to left, allowing Antonacci to score and give Chicago a 2-1 advantage.
The turning point arrived in the fifth inning. After Antonacci singled to center to tie the game at 2-2, Benintendi delivered a double to right field. The hit scored Antonacci, Vargas, and Murakami, instantly expanding the White Sox lead to 5-2. The Rangers managed to cut the deficit in the seventh when Burger homered to left-center, a 408-foot shot that made the score 5-3.
White Sox Offense Continues in the Ninth
Chicago’s offense did not slow down as the game progressed. In the ninth inning, Vargas doubled to left to score Meidroth, extending the lead to 6-3. Acuña followed with a single to right, driving in two more runs to make it 8-3.
