Giants build the early margin
San Francisco created the separation it needed in the top of the second inning, then Lee added the power swings in a 5-1 win over Texas on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Globe Life Field.
The Giants went ahead 1-0 when Gilbert singled to right and Susac scored on a fielding error by right fielder Nimmo, with Gilbert advancing to third. Basabe followed with a sacrifice fly to right that scored Gilbert for a 2-0 lead. Lee made it 3-0 in the third with a homer to right center measured at 410 feet.
Lee keeps adding on
Lee struck again in the eighth, hitting another homer to right center, this one listed at 385 feet, to extend San Francisco’s lead to 4-0. In the ninth, he hit a sacrifice fly to center that scored McCray and made it 5-0. The two Lee homers and Duran’s swing accounted for the game’s three home runs.
Logan Webb earned the win for San Francisco, improving to 7-7. He pitched 6.0 innings and gave up five hits, no earned runs and one walk while striking out eight.
Texas gets one in the ninth
Texas scored in the bottom of the ninth when Duran homered to left, a 406-foot shot that cut the margin to 5-1. Tristan Beck had a line of 0.1 innings, one hit, one earned run, one walk and no strikeouts. Reiver Sanmartin pitched 0.2 innings with no hits, no earned runs, no walks and no strikeouts.
