Frisco, Texas — Marcus Spears Jr., a Frisco forward who reclassified from the Class of 2027, has signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement to play for Texas in 2026-27, the university announced July 10.
Texas said Spears was the nation’s top-ranked 2027 prospect before the reclassification. ESPN ranks him No. 4 in the 2026 class following the move.
Spears played his junior season at Dynamic Prep, where Texas said he averaged 15.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game.
The 6-foot-10 forward will join Texas for next season. The signing connects a Frisco player with a program that competes in the SEC.
