FRISCO, Texas — Mark Hill is poised to become Frisco's next mayor after winning the city's June 13 runoff election, according to unofficial results posted by the City of Frisco.

Hill received 19,632 votes, or 58.12%, while Rod Vilhauer received 14,146 votes, or 41.88%. The city reported 33,778 total votes in the mayoral runoff. The tabulation remains unofficial until the Frisco City Council canvasses the election, which is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 5 p.m.

The runoff followed the May 2 general election, where no mayoral candidate received enough votes to win outright. Frisco officials then called the June 13 runoff between Vilhauer and Hill.

A campaign centered on unity

Hill's campaign message focused heavily on bringing Frisco together during a period of rapid growth and political tension. CBS Texas reported that Hill described unity as a central theme of his campaign after the race drew attention across North Texas.

The runoff became especially closely watched after public debate over comments involving Frisco's Muslim and Indian communities. KERA reported that the mayoral contest reflected broader divisions in the city, including concerns from residents about rhetoric surrounding Muslims, immigration and local identity.

Hill's campaign website described him as "Ready from Day One" and highlighted three areas of experience: education, economic development and executive leadership. His platform emphasized public safety, infrastructure, low taxes through economic growth, transparency and responsible planning as Frisco continues to build out.

Background in law, schools and economic development

Hill is an attorney and community leader with longstanding ties to Frisco. His law-firm biography identifies him as Mark L. Hill, managing partner at Henry Hill PLLC, with more than two decades of legal experience. The firm lists his practice areas as business, construction and real estate.

Hill also serves on the Frisco Independent School District Board of Trustees, Place 5. Frisco ISD lists him as secretary of the board, with a term of office from 2023 to 2026. His Frisco ISD profile says he has been a Frisco ISD resident since 2005 and lists his education as a Juris Doctor from St. Mary's University School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University.

In addition to his school board role, Hill has been listed as a director on the Frisco Economic Development Corporation board. His campaign highlighted that experience as part of his argument that he understands the relationship between Frisco's schools, business growth and tax base.

What comes next

After the canvass, Hill is expected to take over leadership of one of the fastest-growing cities in North Texas. Frisco faces major policy questions around infrastructure, public safety, housing, land use, economic incentives and how to manage growth while preserving quality of life.

One issue residents may continue watching is how Hill handles potential conflicts or recusals involving development, business matters or economic-development decisions. Hill's professional background includes business, construction and real estate-related legal work, while his campaign argued that he was free of conflicts of interest. Future city votes, donor relationships and board appointments are likely to receive close public attention.

For now, Hill's win gives Frisco its first new mayor in years and sets up a transition period before the city's next chapter of leadership begins.
