Frisco, Texas — The Dallas Mavericks have kept Moussa Cissé after matching an offer sheet from the New York Knicks, according to ESPN, and the club announced a multi-year deal July 22.
ESPN reported the Knicks’ offer was for two years and $4.7 million. Dallas matched before the deadline, a decision that means Cissé cannot be traded without his approval during the next year.
Dallas did not disclose the terms when it announced the new agreement. Across 38 games as a rookie, the 6-foot-11 center produced 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.
With the Texas Legends, the Mavericks’ G League affiliate based in Frisco, Cissé averaged 14.7 points and 13.1 rebounds across 15 regular-season games.
