A California sandwich chain known for San Francisco-style sourdough is getting ready to open a restaurant on Preston Road in Frisco, and its owners hope to welcome customers before Thanksgiving.
Sourdough & Co. will open at 3311 Preston Road, Suite 2, according to the company. The sign is up and a "Coming Soon" poster hangs in the window. An exact opening date has not been set while construction wraps up, the company said.
Who is behind it
The Frisco restaurant will be run by franchisees Bode and Aima Egbelakin, a husband and wife who moved to Texas from Iowa, according to Sourdough & Co. marketing coordinator Gemma Lopez. She said the couple chose Frisco because they liked the energy and diversity of the community, and chose the brand because of its food.
A state filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation lists Akinbode Egbelakin as the tenant for an interior finish-out of the 1,262-square-foot space, with an estimated cost of $200,000.
What to expect
The menu centers on sandwiches on sourdough bread, along with soups, salads and flatbreads with a sourdough crust. The Frisco location will offer dine-in, online ordering and catering, and plans to be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Lopez said. The company advises checking its website for current hours once the restaurant opens.
Asked about favorites, the company said Bode Egbelakin's pick is the brisket sandwich, and Aima Egbelakin's are the New England clam chowder in a bread bowl and the pastrami sandwich.
