The Dallas Stars will put their regional game broadcasts on Prime Video beginning with the 2026-27 season, moving local telecasts from the free Victory+ service to a platform included with Amazon Prime memberships. The club announced the multi-year arrangement Wednesday from Frisco, where its executive offices and practice facility are located at Comerica Center.
The change covers every Stars game that is not selected for a national broadcast. Fans within the club's four-state territory of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas will not pay a separate team subscription if they already have Amazon Prime, according to the Stars. Viewers can use the Prime Video website or app on phones, tablets, streaming boxes, game consoles and connected televisions.
That distinction matters because the new distribution model is not identical across the six teams included in the NHL's wider agreement with Prime Video. The league said clubs will set their own package and subscription terms. Dallas chose to include its regional games with a Prime membership, and the club said no additional subscription is required for Prime members.
The audience map stays the same
The platform changes, but the league's territorial boundaries do not. The Stars said viewers outside the four-state regional area will continue to use NHL Center Ice or NHL Power Play on the ESPN App. Nationally televised games also remain outside the local Prime Video package.
The NHL described the agreement as an expansion of Prime Video's existing local-sports distribution business. Prime Video will be an exclusive local streaming home for the Stars, Anaheim Ducks, Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild and St. Louis Blues under the league agreement. The NHL said those local streams can include regular-season games, pregame and postgame shows, and other team programming.
Victory+ offered no-cost, advertising-supported access. The Stars launched that service in 2024 under a seven-year agreement with A Parent Media Co. Prime Video's Stars package instead comes with an Amazon Prime membership and carries no separate team subscription fee. The new agreement replaces the Victory+ distribution model two years after its launch.
Familiar voices will make the move
The on-air presentation will retain its established personnel. Josh Bogorad will remain the play-by-play announcer alongside analyst Daryl Reaugh. Brien Rea and Brent Severyn will continue handling pregame, intermission and postgame coverage.
