Obituary and announcement guidelines

What you can publish

• Obituary, $75. A life story in the family’s own words, with a photo and service details. No word count.
• Death notice, free. A short notice from a funeral home: name, dates and services.
• Announcements, $35. Births, engagements, weddings, anniversaries and graduations, with a photo.

How it works

Fill out the form and pay securely through Stripe. A person on our staff reviews every notice before it appears on frisco.city, usually within one business day. We confirm every obituary and death notice with the funeral home before it is published, which protects families from false notices.

Editing

Notices are published as written. We may correct spelling or formatting and will ask you before making any other change. We do not publish notices that attack or make accusations about other people, include contact details for fundraising we cannot confirm, or contain advertising. Paid notices are labeled as submitted by the family and are not news stories.

Photos

Please send only photos you took or have permission to share.

Refunds and corrections

If we cannot publish your notice, we refund it in full. To correct a published notice, or to ask us to take one down, contact us and we will help.
