Christian Parker is changing his vantage point as Dallas prepares to visit Green Bay. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Tuesday, October 13, that the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator will call games from the coaches’ booth rather than the sideline.

Jones announced the move during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan, according to the team’s website. The Cowboys are 2–3 after losing 24–16 to Tampa Bay on October 8, and the team reported Tuesday that the defense ranked 31st in yards allowed at 395.4 per game.

The change keeps play-calling with Parker, who is in his first season as a defensive coordinator. It follows Monday’s addition of senior defensive assistant Mike Pettine, whose role is to support Parker and the defense.

Dallas also moved former coordinator Matt Eberflus upstairs late in the 2025 season. Parker’s switch comes with 12 regular-season games left.

The Cowboys play the Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday, October 18. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. Central on NBC.
