Summer is winding down, and classes are about to resume for students across Frisco. Here is when the new school year begins and the key dates families will want to mark, based on each district's official 2026-27 calendar.

Most of Frisco is served by Frisco ISD, where students return Wednesday, August 12, 2026. The year runs through May 14, 2027.

The Frisco ISD year ends unusually early, on May 14, a schedule the district coordinated around the May 2027 PGA Championship in Frisco.

Because Frisco spans more than one district, students in some areas start on different days:

  • Prosper ISD: Tuesday, August 11, 2026
  • Lewisville ISD: Wednesday, August 12, 2026
  • Little Elm ISD: Wednesday, August 12, 2026 (its 2026-27 calendar is still marked draft and could change)

Key dates — Frisco ISD 2026-27

  • First day of school: Wednesday, August 12, 2026
  • Last day of school: May 14, 2027

The full Thanksgiving, winter and spring break schedule is on the district's official calendar, linked below.

Families who live near a district boundary can confirm their child's assigned district and campus by address on the district's website.
