Wings' season ends as Valkyries erase 16-point lead in Game 3

Dallas lost 77–73 at Golden State on Friday, ending its playoff run despite 30 points from Arike Ogunbowale. The Valkyries won the first-round series 2–1.

The Dallas Wings led by 16 points in the second half Friday, October 2, but could not hold off Golden State. The Valkyries won 77–73 at Chase Center in San Francisco, taking the deciding game of their first-round WNBA playoff series and ending Dallas' season.

Arike Ogunbowale scored 30 points for the Wings, two nights after her playoff-record 45 helped force Game 3. Paige Bueckers added 17 points and six assists, making all 10 of her free throws while shooting 3-for-14 from the field.

Dallas still led 59–54 entering the fourth quarter. Golden State outscored the Wings 23–14 over the final 10 minutes, with Gabby Williams delivering 17 of her 19 points after halftime.

Williams made the go-ahead basket with 1:17 left and four free throws down the stretch. Tiffany Hayes added 18 points, while Veronica Burton finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Golden State's reserves outscored Dallas' bench 31–8.

The 2–1 series victory was the first in Valkyries history. Golden State advances to face Las Vegas in the semifinals.
