In the final period, Houston sealed the outcome with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Weigman to Amare Thomas, making it 42-21. Georgia Southern managed one last score as River Helms caught a 5-yard pass from Johnson, bringing the final margin to 42-28.

Weigman completed 17 of 22 passes for 239 yards and four touchdowns. His ground game was also potent, though Re'Shaun Sanford II provided significant support on the turf with 17 carries for 120 yards. Walker led Houston’s receiving corps with six catches for 83 yards and a touchdown.

For Georgia Southern, Johnson finished 26-of-38 passing for 284 yards and three touchdowns. Alex Taylor was the primary target, recording six receptions for 119 yards and two scores. David Mbadinga contributed on the ground with six carries for 37 yards.

The loss drops Georgia Southern to a 1-3 record, while Houston improves to 3-1.
